About me and my experience

My passion with autobody and collision work started in school, about 1978, when I purchased a 1970 Chevelle and painted it flip flop blue pearl with full front end flame job. Unfortunately, the car was killed by a drunken driver. Back in the day, customization on cars and bikes was all fiberglass. As time passed, I developed additional skills in automotive and cycle repair as the industry started using plastic parts in body panels and fairings. I recently became certified in plastic repair by 3M and have taught at Pikes Peak Community College located in Colorado Springs, Colorado for two years in autobody collision and paintWithin that time period, I was in a motorcycle accident which left me a paraplegic. After eighteen months of rehabilitation, I came back to what I loved and in doing that, was hired at Dale’s Paint, which is one of the oldest paint stores in the Springs, open now for over thirty eight years. I used my knowledge and skills in selling autobody products and soon became the “go to” guy for any help in repairs. I set up my own shop at my house and the jobs started coming in.

My shop is specially set up for me and I have created props which make it easier to complete my jobs. I use Sata spray equipment, House of Color custom colors, 3M abrasives, and European clears. I believe doing a job right the first time using exceptional products is the only way to go. My real speciality is replacing broken tabs on plastic fairings which one can not find, or are too expensive to replace. In short, I make damaged pieces look brand new. Visit my site and check out the work I have done. I also do metal repairs on fuel tanks and have full welding capabilities on exotic metals with the Miller Sincrowave 200 Tig machine and the Thermodine Plasma Cutter for custom metal work. I enjoy my work and it certainly shows in the finished product.!
